After a successful launch in 2024, Mifa is strengthening its actions dedicated to XR and Video Games, offering them a central place between the Exhibitor Area, Centre de Congrès Impérial Palace and Le Campus Mifa.

As a place of discovery, presentation and networking, the XR&Games area is designed to facilitate networking between professionals and to stimulate emulation.

Featuring original works, new tools and panels with leading international professionals, the programme will explore the fertile links between these creations and animation.


XR&Games Showroom

On the 1st floor of the Exhibitors' Marquee, an area of over 100 sq. m. will enable you to discover the key players in the video game and XR sectors, between meetings, XR experiences or even moments of conviviality at the end of the day.

During the 4 days of the market, benefit from a meeting space to meet professionals and visibility among the 17,000 badgeholders.
XR and video games, a space to present your VR works or organize a time of exchange and conviviality.

Video Game Cinematic Works & Game Trailers Competition

This year, the Mifa is renewing its collaboration with the Weird Market in Valencia (Spain) and organising a new competition for cinematic works and video game trailers. 21 countries across Asia, Europe, North and South America, as well as Oceana submitted projects to this new edition.

The 2025 Jury

This year's Mifa Video Game Cinematic Works & Game Trailers Competition jury perfectly captures the spirit of the category: creative, cross-disciplinary and forward-thinking. Aneta Ozorek brings a sharp curatorial eye shaped by her work across European animation and XR festivals. Rodrigo Blaas offers a deep storytelling insight from years at the heart of major animation studios and original series creation. Tim Miller is known for pushing the boundaries of format and genre, with trailblazing work like Love, Death & Robots and Secret Level that redefined how animation and games can interconnect.

  • Thursday 12th June 2025 – 6:15 pm: Awards Ceremony. The Mifa Pitches showcase the best animation projects at the writing or development stage and that are seeking funding. For some years now, these key Mifa events have included the Immersive Experiences category, featuring among others VR and AR projects.
